Descriptif :
Two days of canoeing in the heart of nature, making the entire descent from Vallon Pont d’Arc to Sauze, without bivouac. This is possible by combining two programs, descent n ° 1 on the first day and descent n ° 3 on the second day. So you go on the river taking the minimum equipment and in the evening you return to the accommodation you have chosen.
On the first day you can start in the middle of the day, you don’t have to rush to leave early. This part is short but very interesting, with a succession of bodies of water and rapids (including the famous Charlemagne rapid) and the Pont d’Arc, which you will spend about 30 minutes before arriving in Chames.
On the second day, the meeting point is still at Vallon Pont d’Arc and the bus will transport you to the boarding point in Chames. A little after the start you enter the Natural Reserve of the Gorges de l’Ardèche. From that moment you are in the middle of nature. The river is bordered on both sides by cliffs that can reach two hundred meters. Throughout the day you cross rapids and bodies of water. A multitude of beaches can accommodate you for a picnic, a swim or simply to take the time to contemplate the wonderful Gorges de l’Ardèche.
When you are at the Cathedral rock, you will have (depending on the water level) two to two and a half hours of paddling to reach Sauze, where your bus will be waiting for you to get you back to Vallon Pont d’Arc.
